In the world of fashion, design is often driven by what’s trending. Designers look at color palettes, font styles, and layouts that are currently popular on social media to ensure a product sells.
But for us, the design process starts in a very different place.
Before we open PhotoShop or put a squeegee to a screen, we ask a foundational question: "How does this visual honor the Word of God?" Faith-led design is more than just putting a verse on a shirt, it’s about ensuring that every color, every typeface, and every illustration serves the message.

The Power of Imagery
Theology is the study of God, and Visual Theology is the art of making those truths visible. Throughout church history, from the stained glass of cathedrals to the icons of the early church, imagery has been used to teach the Gospel to those who might not have a Bible in hand.
When we choose an image for a shirt, whether it’s a rugged mountain range to represent God’s steadfastness or a delicate lily to represent His provision, we are making a biblical statement. We avoid clutter because we believe the Gospel is clear. We choose symbols that have weight and history because our faith is ancient and enduring.
Choosing the Voice of the Verse
Typography (the style of the text) gives a message its tone of voice.
-
Bold, Sans-Serif Fonts: We use these for declarations of strength and truth.
-
Classic Serif Fonts: These carry a sense of tradition, wisdom, and authority.
-
Hand-Drawn Scripts: We use these for messages of grace, intimacy, and personal testimony.
A design decision as small as the curve of an "S" or the weight of a "T" can change how a person receives the message on your chest.
Color Theory
Colors evoke emotion. When we decide on a color for a new release, we aren't just looking at the "Season’s Top 10" list.
-
Earthy Tones (Ochre, Olive, Terracotta): These remind us of our connection to the creation and our humility as jars of clay.
-
Deep Blues and Purples: These symbolize the royalty of Christ and the depth of His peace.
-
White and Cream: These represent the purity and washed-white-as-snow reality of the believer.
By being intentional with color, we help set the mood for the spiritual conversation that shirt might start.

When Designing, Less is More
In a culture of loud and busy fashion, we often choose minimalism as a design philosophy. Why? Because we want the Word of God to be the hero.
We believe in doing things with excellence. Sometimes, excellence means knowing what to leave out. If a design is too busy, the message gets lost in the noise. By making disciplined design decisions, we ensure that the focus remains on the Truth.
"Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No'" (Matthew 5:37). We apply this to our canvas: if an element doesn't add to the message, we say "no" to it.

The "Testimony" Test
Every design that leaves our studio has to pass the Testimony Test. We ask ourselves: "If a stranger stops someone wearing this shirt, does the design make it easier or harder to share the Gospel?"
A design should be an open door, not a barrier. It should be beautiful enough to attract interest, but clear enough to convey a message. Whether it’s printed in soft-hand water-based ink or a bold puff ink, the design is the servant of the Word.
Conclusion: Beauty in the Service of Truth
Art was created by God, and it belongs to Him. By making faith-led design decisions, we are reclaiming the medium of fashion for His glory. We don't just want to sell shirts, we want to provide the church with beautiful, thoughtful tools for the Great Commission.
Every time you put on one of our tees, know that I prayed over that layout, debated those colors, and refined those lines, all so you can represent the Kingdom with excellence.
